This salvage scow was located near Snake Island in the direction of the Dupont plant on the Lake Ontario shore during a week of searching for wrecks in May of 2003. On May 19th, the team from NorthernTechDiver and the Great Lakes Under Water Explorers (GLUE) dive club located the DSS. While no definitive information has been ascertained regarding this vessel to date, one possibility is that she was one of a number of derelict vessels intentionally scuttled in the late 1930's as a part of a cleanup of Kingston harbour. Her structure is relatively intact and there is some penetration as can be seen in the pictures below.
