GUE General Course Prerequisites

The following are course prerequisites for all GUE courses (any additional and/or course specific prerequisite, as well as any deviations from teh following, will be listed under the appropriate section of the specific course):
  1. Must have a completed application npacket on file, included medical information, release forms, and dive history.GUE Student Registration
  2. Must submit a diving resume to heeadquarters via eletronic or land mail.
  3. Must be physically fit, mentally stable and clearly focused.
  4. Must hold DAN Master Plan insurance or equivalent.
  5. Must be a non-smoker.
  6. Must obtain an authorization for the use of prescription drugs by a physician (with the exception of birth control) and must have such authorization approved by a GUE representative prior to the onset of diver training.
  7. All GUE trained divers are initially encouraged to become GUE members and to continue to renew their membership after it expires. This privies them with continued access to GUE support material, which includes on-line training materisl, quarterly issues of GUE's educational magazine, and an industry-leading educational forum. Furthermore, GUE members are automically enrolled in Quest online, an important educational mail list that allows them to further post-class education on a variety of subjects.
