Tom Rutledge - Chief Recreational Instructor

Tom: With a passion for diving and marine history, he is the historian of the company. He has built an extensive database of local and area wrecks. Pursuing this hobby has allowed him to hone his skills as a videographer and photographer. A good portion of his work is showcased on the Wrecks information pages within this site and in the various NTD Multimedia products that have been produced. When not teaching students, you will find Tom driving his side-scan SONAR around or diving somewhere in the depths of Lake Ontario. Occasionally he has been spotted in the caves of Florida; Tom is a fully certified Instructor with PADI.

Dan MacKay - Chief Technical Instructor

Dan: After retiring from the military in 1993, Dan was searching for something to do as a hobby. He tried SCUBA diving and the rest, as they say, is history. After completing 70 or so dives in the four months following his OW cetification he was quickly drawn to the dark side. He has pursued the techincal aspects of our sport with a passion and determination that few people display. He was Canada's first and still the only GUE Technical Instuctor. When not travelling or teaching, Dan focusses almost entirely on developing diver education and the DIR/GUE technical community in Canada. While on his home turf Dan dives almost exclusively in the Great Lakes and St Lawrence region of Canada. This is interspersed with many forays to Florida/Mexico for cave diving. His latest accomplishment is investigating the depths using the Halcyon RB80 rebreather. He normally completes 150-200 training/personal dives a year.

David "Spidey" - PADI Instructor

David: After diving for over 30 years David had decided to share his knowledge with others and became a PADI Instructor. David holds several degrees and is an active sailor and skier amongst other hobbies. David has dove in Barbados, Florida, Hawaii, Bermuda and of course the Great Lakes and St Lawernce River.

James "Vinnie" Young Store Manager, Director of Marketing & Boat Captain

James is an avid diver and boat fanatic - when he's not under the surface, he is often on the surface driving Vicki Marie. James is attending St. Lawrence college working on a business degree and using his knowledge to help us extend our reach into the US market. James is currently working on becoming a Dive Master.

Anne Campbell - PADI Instructor

Anne: A PADI instructor with a flair for wreck preservation, after diving in many places such as Bonaire, Costa Rica, Florida, the Great Lakes and the St Lawrence River. Annie decided to put her skills to good use and become one of NTD's Instructors. Anne also sits on the board of directors for Preserve Our Wrecks and is very active in the Mooring Project.

Chris "Rabbit" Bailey Shop Associate
