Brockville Waterfront

KEY STATS:
Built during the last Ice Age
Depths from 0 - 100 ft (0-33m)
Lots of Stuff (Bottles, Wreckage, etc.)
Location: Brockville, Ontario, Canada

Just off the discharge of the water treatment plant, the cliffs are excellent for experienced divers. The walls are attractive to everybody, providing a variety of quick depth (breaking the 100' [33m] mark) a short distance from the shore. Sturgeon, perch, pike and green eels are just some of the wildlife you may encounter in the channel.

Another a favorite drift dive (depths ranging from 10' [3m] at the shoreline to 60' [18.5m] with a firm bottom) is by the beautiful homes located on the bluff from the Gaskin to the Brockville Walls area. There is a current to propel you, and numerous fish to see. It is important to dive with a float flag due to the close proximity of the Brockville yacht club.

This is an excellent training site with numerous dives ranging from lazy drifts to a quick current around The Three Sister Islands. Upstream from the biggest of the 3 islands (McNairn Island), there is a mid 1930's Chevy truck at 92' [28m] depth. It has ice chains on the rear wheels, and it looks like it was a panel van cut down (for quick escape while on the ice).

Keep your eye out for old milk cans used to smuggle booze, clay pipes and old bottles. You never know what your dive will yield.
