On Sunday February 18th, 2007, Doug Smeaton, passed away doing one of the things he loved most, scuba diving. Doug was a passionate man and never did anything ‘half way’. Doug was a diving enthusiast, enjoying the sport at least once a week. He was a highly experienced and trained technical diver, traveling around the globe to dive in such diverse locales as Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, the Red Sea, the Sea of Japan, and even Lake Superior.

One of Doug's friends from the scuba diving community put together this video tribute to Doug. Thank you Leigh for this.

Doug leaves behind Marg, his wife of 38 years, his sons Paul, Matt and Kurt, and many other friends, colleagues, and family.
